Very good proposal. It is the right thing to do. Please follow through and approve it even if industry Pushes back. Also I don’t understand the secondary lake rules. Mackenzie lake has been fished for brook trout and lake trout by many people for more than a century . same with Nalla lake. Read more

This has nothing to do with protecting and area, it has all to do accessing more timber. This is a unique area with self sustaining brook trout. Not many left !!!! Indigenous species. I don't see the need to re visit this ever 5 years. It's time to put this into a Provincial Reserve.

I would like to applaud the MNRF for this decision to change the CLUPA concerning the Amethyst Highlands(old brook trout triangle). This change to an EMA will surely go a long way to protecting the brook trout populations in these areas. Read more

This area is much too large and all encompassing. Reduce the area. Allow harvesting in the area and ensure that the roads and bridges are destroyed. Do not take any harvestable area away from the logging companies. Read more

I question the rationale and science behind this proposed EMA. A close look at this area on Google Earth and the rationale, not to allow any new access or trails, aesthetics etc , clearly identifies what is really going on here. Read more

as a nearby landowner I don't support an enhanced management area as proposed. as an Ontarian I don't support restricted access to our natural resources whether no new roads or no harvesting as the only thing these types of parks promotes is future fires. Read more

this is an excellent proposal and must be actioned...it is a truly unique area and so close to built up areas...this will help ensure the survival of naturally reproducing brook trout lakes in ontario...the MNRF is doing the right thing and should be applauded...

This proposal includes restrictions to activities within 600 meters of brook trout lakes. This runs counter to the emulation of natural disturbance found in the Forest Management Guide for Boreal Landscapes. Read more
