No company should ever be exempt from any Act that protects the environment or wildlife. Companies and Corporations, whether large or small, represent the greatest threat to species in the affected areas. To allow them an exemption is the equivalent of cancelling the Act in its entirety. I'm amazed that such an exemption is even being considered; it would seem to imply that the Ministry is acting on behalf of Industry rather than fulfilling what I am sure the general public would see as its mandate.
