WITH ALL DUE RESPECT, across Northern Ontario landscapes, in Townships, Towns, and small communities, GREAT BURDENS are being placed on landscapes, and communities as a result of MINERAL EXTRACTION . MINING FOR AGGREGATE carry long lasting effects for communities, lives, property, local lands, wildlife and waters. MAYORS & COUNCIL must have authority to elevate the screening process and to request due diligence. MAYORS & COUNCIL, can not make these decision resulting from conflicting and limited data AND conclusions arising from a limited screening process.

WITH ALL DUE RESPECT, PLEASE understand, current AGGREGATE policy and planning does not have sufficient preservation's and protections for ECOSYSTEMS, LAKES, WETLANDS, WATERWAYS, WILDLIFE and FISHERIES. Many areas are fast disappearing and many areas already gone forever, due to "MINERAL EXTRACTION" The accelerated rate of MINING for AGGREGATE is responsible for excessive habitate loss and irreplaceable damages ECOSYSTEMS, LAKES, WETLANDS, WATERWAYS. The well being of Natures biological cycle is complex and the environment is suffering. The lists of "ENDANGERED-SPECIES" continue to increase. Lists of "APPROACHING-EXTINCTION" continue to increase.

MINING for aggregate, below-water-table extraction, is by definition, right into the groundwater. AND hydrogeology can be an imprecise and unpredictable science. Open pit MINING, below the water-table, and associated activities of MINING has great Environmental and Economic concerns for communities in Northern Ontario.

MAYOR and COUNCIL, and community, must be involved in decision making processes AND successful risk-management, there must be an understanding of cumulative environmental effects AND taxpayer protections AND paramount is protections of natural environment.

Currently Government driven economic growth does not have effective protections inplace for Northern Ontario's ECOSYSTEMS, LAKES, WETLANDS, WATERWAYS, WILDLIFE and FISHERIES. Without understanding the extent-of-these-issues-we-are-relating, the reality will become, nature AND environmental protection is an illusion!
