I believe that the changes to the act go too far in the favor of the aggregate producers and will negatively effect the environment. Specifically the water. My reason for writing is that in the summer I live near the proposed Bacher quarry near Harvey Lake (Dorset Ontario area). I understand that this project has been rejected on the basis of current laws. However the proposed changes to the Aggregates Resources Act may bring it back. I would rather that not occur. The overriding of local municipal concerns of course also ignores the concerns of local taxpayers and voters.
