The blocking of any lease transfers or lease changes after Sept. 1 2010 when no notice was given is a bully tactic and very unfair to future generations. What kind of message are you sending to the next generation as to what they can expect from government when they see their rights being trampled. Ironically, a number of American owners did put their childrens names on their leases, due to their inherent distrust of governmnent.

The blanket destruction of financial assets without compensation that will happen if this proposal is allowed to stand, is again another example of the unequal power exerted by an unfeeling government agency over elderly pensioners and young families who have been given no warning.

All leases should expire at the same time, since they will all be starting at the same time and they should all expire in 2038 regardless of the health or age of any leaseholder and there should be no blocking of lease transfers during that period.

Why should your democratic rights as a Canadan and an Ontarian be suspended just because you happen to own a cottage in Rondeau Park?
