These measures should have been put into place years ago. This disease is in all areas surrounding Ontario and we've got to do everything we can to keep it out. This disease will destroy our wild ungulate populations in Ontario and could get into cattle herds as well. That would be disastrous for farmers. We've already got lungworm jumping from deer to cattle but we're lucky to have a treatment for lungworm. We have no treatment for prions. Is it really necessary to have deer farms in Ontario? Can't farmers raise something else exotic like bison or lamas.
