I am opposed to ERO# 019-2514.
This adds inconvenient layers of red tape regarding noise complaints by residents who live in close proximity to retail and industry. Noise regulation should remain a municipal responsibility.
Define “goods”.
My main concern is when heavy industrial sites where trucks/ equipment are moving, reversing, scraping, lifting (thus creating noise 24/7 ) even when the noise by-laws state that the heavy activity NOT take place between midnight and 7 am. These noise by-laws are broken by industry all the time. Municipal regulation allows noise complaints to be more direct and streamlined. Provincial regulation will make communications regarding noise complaints very difficult.
