This amendment makes the process far too susceptible to corruption. Zoning orders should not be made able to bypass public consultation or environmental assessments. What is to stop a developer or landowner from using political contributions to unduly influence zoning decisions? Land use decisions need to be governed by transparent and appealable decision making processes.
