Road improvement, upkeep and extension is extremely important to the Municipality of the North Shore, as is continuation of and extension of rail service; not only commercial but passenger as well. Huron Central has, in the past, required bail outs to make their operation financially viable. Why Ontario continues to sell off/lease to foreign investors/American investors is difficult to understand. Toll highway 407 is a perfect example. A great deal of money could be entering Ontario's coffers. In any case we need to improve road and rail transportation in the north. We cannot afford to have any further erosion of multiple transportation selections. Are we pricing ourselves out of the market? Ontario already has some of the highest gas prices, electrical costs and connectivity costs in the industrialized world.
