RE: ERO number 019-3471: Eliminating Renewable Energy Requirements
I am writing express my opposition to the proposal to repeal provisions that prioritize renewable energy in the Electricity Act.
I don't understand why this government is doing the opposite of what needs to be done to encourage the deployment of renewable energy.
The whole world is moving in this direction - but not Ontario. Why not? It makes no sense even from an economic perspective as opportunities to expand Ontario's expertise in solar and wind development will decline if these provisions are repealed. Someone else will get the jobs and the profits when we finally come around to joining the rest of the planet in moving towards renewable energy. This is a missed opportunity for which this provincial government will be blamed.
