Please do not repeal the sections of the Electricity Act that promote renewable energy. It is especially important to require the OEB to consider the promotion of energy from renewable sources when determining if a Leave to Construct application for an electricity transmission project is in the public interest. Of course decreasing climate chaos is in the public interest. Climate chaos will cause storms that destroy huge sections of cities and farms, subjecting Canadians to housing shortages, food shortages and possible famines. Climate chaos will cause a breakdown of civilization and co-operation and will likely lead to wars which may be fought on Canadian soil. Mass migration of humans to the north will impact Canada and Ontario.

The Ford government said: Repealing this paragraph will focus the scope of the OEB's Leave to Construct hearings on the topics of price, reliability, and quality of service. Price, reliability and quality of service are all better with renewable sources. Let's include air pollution in quality of service, because decent air is required for health.

The energy system must be set up to prepare for large and small renewable energy projects. We cannot reduce our carbon emissions to zero without renewable energy. And if we don't reduce our emissions to zero, we will get runaway climate change.
