As a resident of Ontario, I am concerned about a streamlined environmental assessment process. Even if this aligns with other jurisdictions in Canada, it is not the right direction to be going in during a climate crisis. We should be ensuring our environmental assessments are robust enough, not relaxing them. The size of a project should not matter - it is about the impact it can have. That is why it should have a full Environmental IMPACT Assessment. We can't assume that the size dictates impact, as there are other factors to consider, such as location. It is better to assess more upfront than to deal with the consequences later.
