The staff at Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority (CLOCA) have reviewed the proposal to amend Darlington Provincial Park's management plan, which seeks to allow increased flexibility for managing shoreline vegetation for Piping Plover recovery and Double-crested Cormorant populations. Habitat management is an adaptive process, and park management plans should enable staff to adjust their activities as adjustments are needed. It is CLOCA's understanding that specific management actions relating to shoreline habitat management and cormorant population management will be made available for public comment when the strategies are being completed. CLOCA staff look forward to participating in the review process of these draft strategies at that time.
