This move is an absolute embarrassment. As someone who worked in the private industry on crafting how my company would comply with these regulation I can tell you with 100% certainty, YOU AREN'T SAVING ANY TIME BY CANCELLING THIS, THE WORK HAS ALREADY BEEN DONE.

Taking us back to no carbon pricing is an archaic way of thinking. There may be better ways to implement carbon pricing, such as the original plan of the conservatives before they threw out Patrick Brown, Revenue neutral carbon tax. By cancelling the regulation with zero backup all that's accomplished is giving free rein back to oil and gas which definitely doesn't need it, at the expense of the people of Ontario. Moreover, the way of the future is renewable. Period. Full stop. All that we're debating is when we make the move.

As Canadians we have an amazingly beautiful country but if all the Ford government cares about is "helping business stay competitive" with Americans as they tear their country apart for that extra inch of profit, then why don't we remove all regulation while we're at it. Ala Trump

Let's let companies dump their waste wherever they want... it would help the bottom line.... Let's get rid of regulations around chemical storage or fluorocarbons... Let's just open up everything to full on profit motives. Betcha our companies bottom lines would look a heck of a lot better....

Until they die.

The reality is that clean energy is more economical, battery storage has come a long way and electric cars are getting cheaper by the year. Go look up the payback period on the Australian Battery project with Tesla.

The smart (un-corrupted) people in government should understand that Moore's law is driving down the price of these technologies and SMART Countries/Provinces understand that by clinging to old outdated technologies they will just end up further behind and give up more and more of the well paying jobs of the future.

Moves like getting rid of carbon pricing put us further behind the 8 ball and lets other countries who's heads aren't up their own .... become the leaders of tomorrow.

If the Ford government continues to make stupid, shortsighted, borderline corrupt moves like this, I can promise you that as someone who's voted conservative in the past, you will not only NOT get my vote but I will donate, volunteer and try to pursued everyone I possibly can to make sure Ford doesn't get another term.

Climate change is real... and even if you're not sure of the science.... are you really willing to risk the consequences?

PS: Once you put up a solar panel, you get free energy with very little maintenance cost. You'd like to think the party who frames itself as fiscally responsible would recognize a good investment when they see it.
