Currently, motor homes are classified as heavy duty vehicles and require annual Drive Clean testing because they are based upon platforms that are included in that group.
Unlike true heavy duty vehicles such as diesel tractor trailers or dump trucks, motor homes are driven far less often and are maintained regularly out of necessity.
Changes to the program should consider exempting motor homes or, at least, altering the testing regime to either a bi- or tri- annual basis or to a regime based upon kilometers driven.
