Ending the Ontario Drive Clean program for light duty vehicles is the right move to make by the Ontario Government. Well done! This positive move is a long time coming and will benefit families and citizens. The environment will be fine due to current advanced automotive production standards and technologies.
There is no need for on-road enforcement of light-duty vehicles emissions unless there is a significant visible or audible or detectable problem. OBD2 scanning should not be done for light duty vehicles for emissions diagnostics purposes anymore.
Maintaining the Drive Clean program for heavy duty vehicles makes sense for stewardship of the environment.
Thank you to the Ontario Government and the leadership of Conservative Leader Doug Ford and his party for ending the Drive Clean program for light duty vehicles, a positive decision for the people.
