I do not agree with the proposed amendments to the greenbelt plan. It is disgusting that this government would consider developing over green areas when the effects of climate change and environmental degradation are already present. These amendments would directly contribute to climate change and worsen the quality of life of Ontarians. Furthermore, instead of trampling over the green belt the Ontario government could implement other measures to increase the amount of available housing across the province, such as rent control, limiting foreign buying of properties, better zoning, and placing limitations on units being used for air bnbs.
