I am very concerned about…

I am very concerned about the poor precedent set by allowing development of lands on the green belt and compensating by calling river areas already protected as new greenbelt.
Concerns:
1.Loss of food security- we need to preserve southern Ontario farmland for future- once precedent set farmers will be able to use as grounds to sell to developers.
2. Loss of carbon sink
3. Disruption of watershed and animal habitat
4. More urban sprawl- less access to country side for southern Ontarians when we should be intensifying existing municipal lands and leaving green space alone to mimimize greenhouse gases from giant houses far from services
5. Conflict of interest- developers support Ford election and get new lands in return
