I don’t understand why expanding the GTA into our prime farmland is the only solution for population growth.
A better idea would be to invest in cities situated on land that is less conducive to agriculture. Invest in making Graverhurst, Parry Sound, Sudbury, etc a more desirable place to live and work. Create incentives for businesses to convene in places where business will thrive and homes can be built that doesn’t jeopardize our watershed, our fertile land, and our sustainability.
Airports and Train stations can be revitalized and expanded for less cost. Urban sprawl would have much more direction to move.
The Greenbelt is protected for a reason. A very good reason. Destroying it now is destroying our future.
