Good morning,
I am writing to express my deep disappointment that this government has broken its promise to keep the Greenbelt protected.
Developing this land will permanently destroy precious farmland, forests, habitats, and wetlands. It would negatively affect the natural movement of wildlife in the area. This type of development would contribute to climate change, air pollution and contamination of land and water. It would permanently remove forested areas that clean our air, removing pollution created by millions of vehicles.
This would set an irreversible and dangerous precedent for the future of the Greenbelt. For the sake of the future of our province, the government should use extreme caution and spend a lot of time looking in great detail at other avenues to build housing before permanently destroying these protected lands.
Sincerely,
A concerned citizen
