I’m reaching out as a concerned citizen. I am tired of watching the Ontario government attempting pass legislations that benefit solely the ‘friends’ pockets of the Ford government. We do not need more Million dollar homes in this province, we need affordable housing. There are ways of doing this (that may require research) without having to destroy the homes of other living species that we pledged to protect. This planet is dying for a reason and we as a province should not be a benefactor of that.
One method of providing affordable housing that I have been aware of, is through finding and purchasing empty building/spaces. These spaces can possibly house 100+ families and even students. Rather than building wide we can built up. We need to look at other countries architecture (like Singapore) and use them as inspiration for how to do things the right and ethical way. We need to think long term benefits over short term relief.
