I hope these comments being recieved from the public are being taken seriously and into consideration. As citizens it is within our right to be involved in the decision-making, planning, and development of land.

This proposal of the Green Belt development is of no help to Ontaronians and weakens environmental protections and undermines public involvement in land use planning and decision-making. There would be huge biodiversity loss while we are facing a climate crisis. Sacrificing environmental protections for a supposed 'solution' to the housing crisis isn't needed. The problem isn't a shortage of land but affordable housing. The problem is greed; there are little to no rules for landlords, and affordable housing being replaced by commercial rentals owned by corperation such as property management companies.
The proposal to over-ride zoning so you can build triplexes and develop the Green Belt is just a way for landlords to rake in triple the profits. It is no surprise that the land proposed for the Green Belt development is owned by Ford's biggest financial supporters.
