I'm in my late 20s and want to settle down and build a family but I cannot because of unaffordable housing in this province. Even so, I do not believe that this bill will increase the housing that I need to build a family with the services and lifestyle I want.
The last thing we need to do is keep on expanding our urban boundaries. Instead we need to come together to build on what we already have. I grew up in the suburbs and by gosh are they just full of single houses that could be rezoned and built up to house many more people without making the neighbourhood much more busy.
I lived at Yonge and Bloor for two years - and the last thing I want is my province and city to turn into that area. Instead, I just want sensible housing built on land we have already developed. Instead of potentially destroying wildlife habitat and increasing the risk of humans coming into contact with new and emerging infectious diseases, we need to come together and use what we have wisely.
