Its obvious that removing protections from greenbelt lands is not a sustainable development approach, and benefits very few current and future provincial residents. Developing these lands would not only burden the province, but is a shortsighted blunder. The expansive GTHA has less than 50% the population density of greater New York, and 3/4 the population density of greater LA, a city known for its sprawl. It is almost impossible to naturalize lands once they have been developed.
