I am strongly against opening the green belt for development. The land selected for this protection removal will only positively impact rich land owning developers. Replacing important environments and replacing them with detached single family mega mansions is not a good use of our land. If any development does happen, it should be affordable, and limit sprawl. There should be strong limits on lot sizes to ensure we build as many homes as possible for the large sacrifice of green belt land. We should force the newly designated green belt lands to be sold back to the government who can set up coops and other forms of community housing projects so the wealthy are not the sole group to profit and benefit
