Re Bill 23.. no dialogue on the merits of this bill presumably designed to offer affordable housing by reducing development charges (savings passed on to the home buyer??), by adding and subtracting lands in the GreenBelt (not clear how that affects lowering new housing costs) or the streamlining of the process to building new homes, when existing residents are now prohibited in participating in LPAT/OMB tribunal hearings.
Bill 23 is merely benefiting developers and those current owners of land previously within the Greenbelt who will sell to developers at a substantial gain and/or those developers who previously purchased in the GreenBelt aware of the pending change. Will the developer 's increased profits be shared with the new home buyers? One ought to ask Steve Clark to answer this question.
So much more to address in Bill 23; its genesis and timing, but I've come to realize comments from the public matter little in fighting 'city hall' or for that matter the premier's office.
