I am greatly opposed to the removal of lands from the greenbelt for the purpose of housing. The Housing Affordability Task Force said there is no shortage of land available elsewhere for housing . The houses that would be built in the Greenbelt areas being carved out will not be affordable to immigrants and young families.
Greenbelts and environmentally sensitive land must be preserved for food security. We should be producing and buying Ontario food instead of importing it.
The proposed removal of Greenbelt land is presently allowing some individuals to gain huge profits at the expense of regular taxpayers. It sets a dangerous precedent.
This attack on the environment must not be allowed to proceed.
