I am a farmer in Rockwood raising cattle. The changes described for this Act such as changing the current rate of of one hectare of parkland for each 300 dwelling units to one hectare for each 600 dwelling units seems contradictory to the reduction of green house gases and Ontario's move to try to cope with the climate crisis.

For the purposes of cash payment reduction, land around my area (Rockwood) has been bought for development or aggregate extraction by very capital rich companies. If these companies are already taking farmland and making a huge profit from building homes why do they need a break in development costs? No one helps me with my business that is most of the time in the red. The most I get is a reduction in land taxes. Maybe if the developers paid more or took on more of the infrastructure costs for all these homes that are being proposed, we could use the money for a better healthcare system. Ontarians are going to pay for these reductions not the developers.
