The current plans envisioned for the greenbelt areas will do nothing for affordability of housing in the GTA. Continuing to build low density single-family on conservation lands and farmland will only aggravate the essential and urgent need to reduce our carbon footprint by increasing commute distances.
The government's own studies clearly demonstrate that sufficient lands exist within currently designated development lands. This is where we need to be building.
Stop the attack on our precious farm and conservation lands while there is still some hope for the future for our grandchildren.
How will you answer your children/grandchildren when they ask "where were you when they paved over all the valuable land"?
