The Region of Waterloo has a very balanced and effective municipal plan. It has reduced sprawl, protected farmland and water resources while intensifying downtown population very effectively.
There is plenty of land in the Region of Waterloo zones for development in the Region to more than adequately meet the provinces housing goals.
Please do not destroy a well thought out and managed official plan. One thought to continue densities increases in subdivisions is take up some of the initiatives if the city of Toronto. Make vacant housing a province wide issue and do the correct planning decision to intensify subdivisions. It will occur in the not to distant future regardless why have further environmental decline occurs unnecessarily.
Ontario has drained approximately 90% of its original wetlands, why is the province accelerating that? Very difficult to undue and incredibly important to the present and the future.
The province can meet its goals in a much more effective manner.
