I find it unimaginable that days after the Intergovermental Panel on Climate Change publishes the most critical climate warning of our time that our government chooses to undo all the climate commitments we have. I am appalled by this government’s cavalier attitude towards the numerous horrors that will unfold as a result of climate change - loss of arable land, increasing extreme weather, the death of the coral reefs, melting of the arctic, untold mass migration, food insecurity, and death. I implore you to reconsider this bill. The IPCC predicts that we will reach 3-4 degrees Celsius of warming by the end of the century if we do not act immediately to decrease our carbon emissions. We need concerted effort at all levels of government if we intend to enjoy life as we know it on this planet.
