We are the generation of last resort. The United Nations' IPCC says we have 12 years left until catastrophic climate change is locked in for thousands of years. I and other Ontarians must explain this to our children and grandchildren with shame. Yes, we had a chance to do our part with pride. For a short time we began to take action. But then in 2018 we decided that political spite and a few dollars of short-term savings was worth more than the well-being of future generations. To any MPP who reads this: think on the legacy you want to create. Cap and trade, or carbon taxes, should be the confident conservative solutions. These approaches minimize regulation and support free-market action.
