I think that it is important with any change in legislation to consider and review new legislation before cancelling the existing laws. As simple as looking before you cross a road, not after you've stepped off the sidewalk.
Cancelling the Cap and Trade Policy without notice has brought unnecessary disruption to industry and delayed the implementation of many, much needed, energy conservation measures.
This government should address climate change by following the Federal Government's requirements and providing legislation to achieve this. Taking legal action against the Federal government does nothing to reduce climate change and appears to be money wasted on political squabbling. The current Provincial government should consider if this is what it wants its legacy to be.
Any new legislation should include all of the Provincial Auditor's recommendations, and be shown to provide a faster and less expensive reduction in carbon emissions than the legislation that this government inherited.
