I think there should be no chance that a large landfill / dump of any kind near the town of Dresden. I live on/beside where my great great grandparents settled here. I drink the same water from the well they drilled. I have many friends that are also generational farmers with well water. This is a unique area in one of the smallest ecozones in the country-- the Carolinian zone. If you are curious why so many people are trying to stop those dump and protect the Sydenham River... go for a riverboat ride on it from the Dresden boat launch...in the day or night if you are brave. It is one of a kind.
Please consider what door you are opening by letting them bring junk from all over the province. Are you going to believe York 1 that all their run off ponds won't overflow or be pumped into the Sydenham watershed during heavy rains? They need to find somewhere else to bring stuff. Take a day and come meet some locals, and explore the relatively untouched paradise of the Sydenham watershed.
Yours truly, a concerned Dawn Township resident.
