I support the protection of these three animal species. Protecting their habitat, washing boats to remove parasites and germs, and mitigating climate change, and, of course, not killing or harming the animals, are the best ways to protect these animals, whose declines are completely anthropogenic.
Unfortunately, many animals are persecuted, experimented on, and killed in the name of conservation.
Please stop blaming “hyperabundant” Snow Geese and Canada Geese for the decline of Hudsonian Godwit. https://www.ontario.ca/page/hudsonian-godwit
Instead, work with organizations like Animal Alliance to live with geese.
Please also stop blaming predators like foxes and raptors. https://prod-environmental-registry.s3.amazonaws.com/2024-05/DraftGRS_H…
Instead of killing predators, work with organizations like www.coyotewatchcanada.com
The proposal to freeze entire hives of domestic honeybees alive, to control disease, is incredibly cruel. Depopulation of factory farmed animals is a cruel practice to control disease. All that does is eliminates animals who may have natural immunity, since natural selection can not take place. https://prod-environmental-registry.s3.amazonaws.com/2024-05/DraftGRS_S…
Phase out animal agriculture, including bee keeping. That is the only humane way to prevent disease.
Stop blaming Pike and other “invasive” fish for the decline of Lake Whitefish. The killing of “invasive” fish, often done with poison, is extremely cruel. https://prod-environmental-registry.s3.amazonaws.com/2024-05/DraftGRS_O…
Killing endangered Lake Whitefish babies to examine their stomach contents so they can be reared in captivity is unethical. Please do not use lethal research methods. https://www.ontario.ca/page/lake-whitefish-opeongo-lake-large-and-small…
Please instead work with the Canadian Centre for Alternatives to Animal Medicine to develop no kill methods of research.
