I cycle to work as part of my daily commute every day because it is the fastest and most affordable way for me to get from point A to B in the city. I also own a car and drive for most trips other than my daily commute.

Bike lanes are crucial to safety for cyclists in the city. Twice in the past year, I have had to be a witness for the police after seeing cyclists get hit by cars. In one case, the cyclist had to be taken away in an ambulance. I worry for my safety if we get rid of bike lanes.

People will die.
