Bike lanes are an important part of road infrastructure, and it encourages commuters to use bicycles rather than driving a car. This actually helps reduce traffic. Furthermore, many people will continue to use bikes even without a dedicated lane. This will decrease the safety of bicyclists and cause them to take up a full driving lane when they are on the road.
I am completely OPPOSED to the proposal which will allow the provincial government to remove existing bike lanes.
