License Plate renewals for cars are now free. Bike and car road users each pay the same to the province, $0.00, for the privilege to use the roads. So, each have an equal claim to a share of the roads. To have a 1.5+/- metre wide strip dedicated for bike use and the balance of the road width for cars seems reasonable.
Bike riders are the most vunerable road users and deserve a protected space.
