This is a horrible move for traffic congestion, for climate goals, for the safety of anyone who uses public infrastructure on and adjacent to roads. If you want to speed up traffic flow, give people SAFE and ENJOYABLE alternative ways to get around. So yes, that means designated bike lanes. It means funded and prioritized public transit.
Listen to constituents, to BIAs, to business leaders, to climate experts, to city planners -- designated bike lanes are essential infrastructure.
The Ford government overreaching AGAIN into the municipal affairs of Toronto is egregious and must stop.
