Bike lanes are important for commuting for many people. We shouldn't assume that everybody has the funds to purchase motor vehicles. Having safe bike lanes as an option for transportation is very important for many people for full commutes, commutes to transit stations, and for recreational use. With more, *complete* bike infrastructure, it will be able to be used more. If there weren't connecting, safe roads then less people would drive, yet somehow some people say not enough people bike ignoring that they aren't given connecting, safe routes. We need more bike lanes, not less, and ripping up existing lanes is bad for people and is a waste of taxpayer money.
