As someone who lives too far…

As someone who lives too far from work too ride or easily use public transport, you know what I really don't want?? More people in cars on the road! Bike lanes are functionally useless to me, but I'm still in favour of them as much as possible both for selfish (less cars --> I get to work faster) and societal (reduced fossil fuel emissions) reasons.
