- where is the evidence before you do anything?
- subways are under all three routes in Toronto (people have options)
- side streets are not an option for cyclists (Toronto is not a grid, unlike, say Edmonton)
- getting through intersections is the main constraint on traffic
- as intensification continues, concepts like the five minute city should be pursued

- suggestions to help with congestion:
- make bi-directional bike lane on just one side of road -- frees up a traffic lane
- make bike lane wide enough/suitable for emergency vehicles to use
- make freed up lane reversible depending on traffic flow (inbound morning rush, outbound afternoon rush)
- significantly enforce restrictions on parked/stopped vehicles and construction dumpsters

I am a driver, cyclist, and walker. I strongly protest removing existing bike lanes and putting a moratorium on new bike lanes.
