Please keep bike lanes! Congestion will not be relieved by adding an extra lane, but bicycler safety will definitely be adversely affected. Cycling is the future of transportation if we invest in it as more people can be moved through bike lane than by car. This is especially important as Toronto becomes more populous over time. The data shows that bike lanes actually help improve congestion by taking more cars off the road! Without a bike lane, bikes would be slowing down traffic because we will be forced to bike on the streets with other traffic.
