This proposed policy is so…

This proposed policy is so regressive, a knee-jerk fix for congestion in cities. It really seems we are going backwards. It is claimed that the bike lanes in Toronto are empty at times. In a city where cyclists are risking their lives every time they go on the streets, it will take some time to build up trust and encourage more people to get on bikes and feel somewhat safe when they do. Taking away the bike lanes in Toronto is just a short-term, low-hanging-fruit, cowardly way of dealing with CAR congestion in the city. It appears no thought at all is given to the safety of both cyclists and pedestrians. More cars are definitely not the solution! Bike lanes and strong support for transit are the right direction for the future.
