Hello,

I'm writing to oppose the York 1 dump project coming to Dresden. I live in the area and the increase in enviromental hazards from having significantly more dump trucks driving directly through is going to have large impact on my fellow residents. The increase in emissions, brake dust, oil spilage, noise pollution, idle traffic and particulate coming from the trucks and the loads they carry directly through our main street will effect the health of the residents of our town and the businesses on our currently flourishing main street. The site is proposed to hold asbestos and other hazardous materials which if not properly contained could easily be spread through our town at a consistent rate by the trucks passing through.

The area is also host to the East Sydenham river close to the proposed dump site and will sit on the water table that feeds it which absolutely has the potential to leave us with a heavily polluted river and water table damaging our ecosystem and the farms in the area.

I work in heavy industry and have seen the enviromental impact of sites like these and often the lack of reporting of chemical and oil spills that happens on these sites. We all understand the need for dumping sites but the location and expansion of this site is massively harmful to the residents and the region itself because of its close proximity to our small town.

I hope the response from myself and all of my fellow locals and our local representatives are being heard and the expansion of this site is denied.
