The proposal to exempt York1 from ana environmental assessment is shocking, disgusting, and may be disastrous for Ontarios most important farming hub. Chatham-Kent produces tbe majority of our provinces produce. We have important wetlands and beaches, and a unique environment thanks to our southern points such as our carolinian forests. Allowing the GTA to use our precious towns as a mega dump is deplorable, trying to hide what the impact may be to tne public is deplorable.
This project should never have been pursued in the first place, but to try and do it without due study and consideration should be grounds for this government to fall. Given the conservatives live in ignorance of the environment and seek only endless economic and capitalist growth, ill put it in terms that may matter. We are in a trade war and we need to prioritize canadian agriculture and manufacturing for our economy to survive. Investing is Chatham kent is how you save agriculture in ontario. Skipping assessments to flood our rural municipality with garbage places that at risk. Willfully blinding yourself and blinding the public to the impact is a braindead move. It will only significantly delay discovery. Independent researches will eventually find out. Itll be too late.
