This proposal sounds like another way to dismantle the green belt, which is what the conservative government wanted to do in their previous term. As a Canadian and resident of Ontario, I’ll be extremely disappointed if this proposal leads to a loss in sensitive environmental areas and key ecosystems for species at risk. As the Government of Ontario, you have a responsibility to ensure the protection of sensitive land for future generations to come. The Ford government needs to listen to the people of Ontario and stop putting forward projects we do not want or need. Protecting jobs should not come at the expense of the environment. You need to do better.
