I'm really worried about what the Ford government is doing with Ontario Place. They’re trying to push through redevelopment plans without following the Environmental Bill of Rights, which basically means they’re cutting the public out of the process. That’s not okay.
This isn’t just about the environment (though that’s a huge part of it) - it’s also about transparency and accountability. They’re making decisions behind closed doors, and it feels like they’re doing everything they can to avoid answering to the public.
We’ve already seen how this government operates, whether it’s the mess with the Greenbelt or how they’ve handled Ontario Place from the start. There’s been little respect for the law, public input, or the long-term health of our communities.
Toronto’s waterfront shouldn’t be handed over to private interests without a proper, open process. People deserve to be heard, and we shouldn’t have to fight this hard just for basic transparency.
We have a right to speak up and demand better - for our city, our environment, and our future. And we will.
