’m a proud local business owner in Dresden. Like many others in our town, I’ve worked hard to build something here—something rooted in community, trust, and pride in where we live. Dresden is not just where I work; it’s where I’ve chosen to invest my time, my energy, and my future.

That’s why I’m deeply concerned about the proposed landfill and waste processing facility being planned just outside of town.

This project isn’t about serving our community—it’s about accepting waste from the GTA, crushing concrete, washing contaminated soil, and discharging wastewater without providing a clear, safe, and sustainable plan for disposal. That’s not just an environmental concern—it’s an economic one.

What does it mean for our town’s reputation? What does it mean for the small businesses who rely on clean air, safe water, and a positive community image to attract customers and retain staff? What does it mean for the people who are thinking of moving here, starting businesses here, or building families here?

I can tell you this: no one wants to open a café, run a shop, or raise kids next to a massive waste site.

We already take care of our own waste. We already have a landfill. So why are we being asked to take on the burden of someone else’s garbage—especially without a full Environmental Assessment?

Our town deserves better than to be treated as a dumping ground for other regions. We deserve transparency, accountability, and the chance to speak out before irreversible damage is done.

Please: don’t let this move forward without a full Environmental Assessment. Small businesses like mine depend on the health and safety of this community—not just for our livelihoods, but for our future.
