This terrible bill is not about “unleashing the economy”, it is about enriching Doug Ford and his special “trusted” friends. While there are people in this ecomony who are suffering, the profits from these projects will not help them. They will not help the people who are living on the streets, or families that are struggling to make ends meet.
Doug Ford’s friends are being invited to destroy our natural spaces or, in fact, anything they like, to become more rich and powerful. It appears that this will include Doug Ford who will no doubt benefit from kickbacks, bribes or gifts.
We have environmental laws for a reason. We all need the clean air and healthy food that our conservation areas and farm land will provide us with now and in the future. Overriding these laws will only help the privileged few while making the average Ontarian worse off..
Doug Ford, you do not seem to care about the future. It appears, that like Trump you don’t care about the future because you won’t be there. You won’t be there but our children and grandchildren will and they will remember you as someone who, through greed or ignorance, made everything more difficult.
Show respect for the law and due process and stop this bill.
